Our Common Cause: Confronting Current Crises & Forging a New Vision

California Working Families Policy Summit 2010

Please join us on Thursday, February 25th, 2010, for the seventh California Working Families Policy Summit, hosted by the California Center for Research on Women and Families for a stimulating day of discussion and debate about the needs and aspirations of California's working families.

In partnership with the California Work and Family Coalition, we are honored to host Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis as our keynote speaker. We are also delighted to feature an important message on working families from First Lady Michelle Obama. The February 25 Summit will be the only venue in California to showcase this taped message.

Timed to coincide with the start of the legislative session, the California Working Families Policy Summit is a forum for leaders from the Legislature, state and local government, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and local communities. Leading advocates will offer proposals and long-term agendas to preserve the safety net, build family economic security, and promote family-friendly workplaces. During this time of economic crisis and political uncertainty, the Summit will offer information and options to confront our current crises, and help us envision a better future for California's working families.

This event is co-sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, The California Endowment, Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, and the New America Foundation.
